“A wonderful hotel, and one of the best dinners of our lives. We were booked here as part of a bike tour, and our director recommended we book dinner reservations here, as it's about the only option in town. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly, and taken to two lovely, historical rooms. A family suite with a large beautiful porch, and a smaller 1bd room with a equally lovely, but smaller porch. The hotel is historical, comfortable and beautiful. We spent a couple of hours in the lovely pool and garden area, then took a walk around the town before dinner. We were seated outside on the hotel's beautiful patio, and enjoyed an absolutely excellent dinner. Our group had a good number of vegetarians and some kids in it, and both groups had no trouble finding food they liked on the menu. We would have loved to stay for another night, and will absolutely come back if we're in the area again.”
“Our bicycle tour in Catalunya booked us into this hotel which has been beautifully carved out or 12th Century Medieval structures. I am personally fascinated by historic architecture and this hotel pleased me immensely. We were there for two nights near the end of a 9 days of riding on roads, rail trails and dirt paths. The management and staff were very attentive and the restaurant provided wonderful breakfasts and evening meals with fine wines. I highly recommend Hotel Plaça de Madremanya as THE PLACE to stay in Madremanya while enjoying the countryside and other medieval villages nearby.”
“Beautiful hotel in a beautiful Spanish village! Service was great right from the welcome on our first day. They spoke excellent English and even taught us a few words of Catalan to go with our basic Spanish! The owner is about every day and knows the area really well. He had great advice on how to make the most of our days out. Food was very good. A mix of local food with a few extra things from wider afield! The wine was also excellent including the local wines. Amazing team of people looking after us at tables. Willing to help any way required and so friendly. It was a pleasure to meet them all. Rooms were lovely. They kept pretty cool even without the air conditioning (which worked brilliantly). We had a double which I think was the smallest in the hotel but it was still a great size. King size bed, desk, coffee table and two sitting chairs with lots of space around them. Our 'kids' (19,17 and 11) had a room which had a sofa bed double and two single beds. There was also a small dining table and a beautiful terrace. Beautiful pool, which whilst not huge in width is certainly long enough. It never felt crowded. It's set in a lovely garden which is great to relax in. Only thing to be aware of is the village clock which maybe you only hear from the double we had (certainly you couldn't hear it from the kids room opposite). It does ring every 15 minutes day and night. To be honest it disturbed our sleep the first night but after that not at all. For us it was part of the local experience! We would definitely recommend this place. Truly wonderful experience”
“This hotel is absolutely stunning. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, the pool was amazing, and the restaurant served some of the best food I have ever had. As someone who is Celiac, travelling is often stressful, but I was impressed by how well the staff catered to my dietary requirements. I was so excited for dinner & lunch every day because the food was delicious. Special shout-out to Jaume, who was incredibly accommodating when checking us in after our delayed flight from London. All of the staff were so kind, and I can't wait to visit Hotel La Placa again in the future.”
